GOLDEN EAGLE FEATHER AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The first scholarship funds were made possible in 2000 by the New Millennium First Peoples' World Fair and Pow Wow , also known as "Thunder in the Desert."  Presently the funds for the Golden Eagle Feather Scholarship and Award come directly from the proceeds of the Traditional Indian Feast & Fundraiser Festival and contributions made by friends and supporters.  Presently the Scholarships are given for the amount of one-thousand dollars each.  The scholarship is based on a student's 4.0GPA academic standing at an educational institution from high school to graduate level.  The Traditional teaching award is given to a person who shares their culture and traditions to the children and to their community.

The scholarship and award are given in honor of a very special person, that  the Charitable Trust feels epitomizes its mission, the late Mr. Edgar Monetathchi Jr.  He successfully lived in two worlds, the dominate society and the traditional world.  He was a graduate of Harvard University , worked in Indian Health and was a Comanche medicine man who shared with all four races of man the teachings of the Red Road .

It is the goal of the organization to increase the scholarships as more people contribute to the fund.  If you are interested in finding out more information about  applying for the scholarship or how you may contribute to the scholarship and award, please write or email us at:
